Hello
Sorry you haven't had an update last week but here goes. The water level continues to climb albeit slowly as the river continues to flood every other day. The water condition in the reservoir is good with a reasonable clarity, the fish continue to be found on the bottom so lures and sinking lines are the order for the day. Every day has seen at least one 4lb plus RB the best in the last two weeks has been 6lb 8oz. and there have been very few under 2lb. (All from F2) Farmoor 1 hasn't seen many anglers so far but the fish are there ready and waiting, we have had several stockings and last Friday saw 1,140 3.25lb+ and 50 5lb+ 25 of which were double figure fish go into F1. I watched each one go in and some should have been given a saddle and reins. We have been subject to some pretty foul weather the high winds being the most problematic. Don't let the weather put you off, it's usually the wrong clothes not the wrong weather.
See you soon.
PS we are having probs with our phone if you can’t get in touch send me an e-mail to:- royston.maxwell@thameswater.co.uk I will check every day when on duty. The phone will be sorted out very soon.

I hope this is the right place to put this. It's my first time on the forum. If not, I'm sure somebody will redirect me. I had a terrific time fishing Farmoor from a boat today. I haven't fished here for quite some time and I was positively impressed by improvements made. The new mooring buoys are excellent - so easy to tie to. The rangers were also very helpful. I came away with three very fine fish. All caught on black and green montanas fished deep on a sinking line. One of the best days fishing I've had for some time. I look forward to my next trip. |

Hello
Well we are well into March and the Fishery is starting to show sign s of spring, it's still pretty cold but the fish are starting to take buzzers. There have been some notable fish this last week a RB at 13lb 12ozs (new fishery record) taken on a small cats whisker booby green and white, from the bank. Two more RB's at 9lb.8oz + also from the bank. A boat Angler taking his 6 fish at 8lb+ 6lb+ and 4 x 4lb+. Not a bad haul for the time of the year and they were all taken on buzzers. The water level remains low as the Thames won't behave and keeps flooding but as soon as the weather settles we will fill up. Farmoor 1 is picking up and the Anglers who fish it seem quite pleased with the results. The Rod Average last week peaked at 6.1 and the lowest was 1.8
We look forward to seeing you all soon

Good Day All, ust a quick report for you from Friday 05 Mar 10. My brother and I took a boat at 09:30 the wind was N/NW at about 3-4 Knots, temperature was about 5 Deg C and the water temp about the same!! Tactics were DI5, 8 ft leader and two boobies 4 ft apart, I was on Yellow Fritz Booby Blobs, Our Kid was on Black and green with an Orange on the point. We set the first drift around the 3 marker and slowly drifted with our lines being fished hard on the bottom and very slow. The upshot was amazing!! We took fish steadily for about three hours!! all fully finned and hard fighting, we lost one or two but still ended up with a 6 fish bag each. My bag was 26LB (Yes 26 lb!!) and Our Kid had a bag of 17.5 Lb. Biggest fish was an immaculate, fully finned Rainbow of 9 lbs that fought hard all the way to the boat and took some 15 mins to land. Our Kid had a beautiful Rainbow of 4.5 lbs in his bag. Mark has taken a couple of pics and they should be up on the board in The Office so you casn see the quality of fish, amazing!! I am going back on Weds 24 Mar for another go, and cannot wait!! Thanks as always to the very informative and approachable staff that are in my opinion helping to give Farmoor II an enviable record as a superb year round fishery!! Cheers Bob Mac!!

| Had a great day on Sunday on Farmoor1. Lovely sunny spring day with chiffchaffs chiffing and grebes doing their mating dance. Fishing pretty good too. First rainbow of the season was a grown on 3.5lber that took a black buzzer deep down. Followed by one of similar size and then a 7lb 2oz beauty. Moving around and changing to sinker and mini lures brought more success - a lunker stockie of 11lb 4oz, 2 4lbers and another close to 7lb - all before 2.00. My mate Pete had 5 to 6lb too. Great that you can keep one fish again. Just had part of it for my supper. |

Hi all, had another day afloat on FarmoorII yesterday (Weds 24 Mar) Wind was S/SE about 7 or 8 kts till mid afternoon when it died completely, air temp was a pleasant 12 Degs. We started around the 4 bouy drifting towards the Valve tower, had 3 takes in the first drift, all threw the hook!! I was set up on a DI5, with a 10 ft leader,a Sunburst Yellow Booby at 5ft and a Red Sparkler Booby at the point. After a bit of head scratching and beginning to lose the plot a bit I finally inspected my hooks to find that I was fishing barbless! which is all well and good near the surface, but when you are fighting a fish from 30ft down, well!! Anyway, RBS and I ended the day with 6 apiece, my bag weighing in at a touch over 14 Lbs, heaviest fish 3lb 4 oz. Ricks bag weighed in at a healthy 10lbs. In the other boat Our Kid and Checkers had a similar day with similar results, two full bags of beautifully conditioned Rainbows! We took to the water at about 09.30 and we were off by 15.30, with a half hour break ashore for lunch, so as you can see it is fishing superbly well still!! As a point of interest as we were nearly wrapped up there were a good few fish topping and feeding on a marvellous "Ginger Buzzer" hatch, so maybe time to get the floating lines and a team of Nymphs/Buzzers on!! I love spring time!!

Hello
Sorry about the lack of reports, it's down to me, we are moving offices (almost on a daily basis at the moment) but no excuses, I must try harder. Anyway, down to the fishing. The water level is back up and good vis at the moment. The last three to four days have seen huge buzzer hatches, the fish are starting to switch onto them but I think they were as surprised as us by their sudden arrival. The Rod average for last week was 2.8 overall and this week looks set to be about the same. The fish are still quite deep but moving up. The water temp has risen a few degs, so mid water lures and buzzers are likely to be the order of the day. F2 has been fishing better from the boats, but the fish are starting to move closer to the bank now. The few anglers who have chosen to fish F1 have not been disappointed and next week we introduce a stocking of 3lb+ Blues and another 1,000 Browns. We look forward to seeing you all soon Regards

G'day all; thought I'd make this last post as I fly out for Oz and my new job in Brisbane this afternoon. Time to break out the 10-wt salt water rod and the Clouser Minnows again after nearly eight years. My last session on F2 on Friday the 26th, was definitely something to remember Farmoor by! My tally for the day was a cracking 19 - mostly on a Viva Booby but a good few on a Orange Booby, as well. A double hook-up on a brace of 3-pounders also stretched the netting skills a bit at one stage. I varied dragging the bottom with Boobies by switching to a 10' sink tip from time to time; a red holographic bloodworm, fished two feet up from the point, was a fish magnet until the dropper was bust off at the knot and I lost the only one I had. But my real reason for posting this message is not to talk about a good day's fishing, but to salute the wonderful angling folk at Farmoor. From the friendly rangers, Royston, Mark and Kevin (as well as Damian) to the chatty regulars who populate the concrete walls, I will have very fond memories of a wonderful venue. Hopefully, I will get back for a fish again sometime in the future! Stick together - don't let the sailors or Thames Water get you down. All the best, Alex

Hello and a Happy Easter.
Very little has changed in tactics since my last post, the water level has dropped about 12" but is still at a good level. We have had another stocking into F2 since the last report and the stock cages are full of good looking youngsters for us to bring on for later in the season Mr Steve Marsh landed a cracking 12lb 3oz Rainbow taken from the West bank this afternoon. It fell to a gold head diawl bach on a 16' leader and floating line. The buzzer hatch has reached plaque proportions so much so that the gulls are starting feed on them; those fish being caught are stuffed to the gills with them. The weather report for the Easter break isn't too good and the wind is likely to be a significant factor, if you are thinking of taking a boat please be advised that if the forecast shows winds gusting up to 25mph plus then the boats are not allowed out.
Hope to see you all soon

Hello
Well April has certainly got started in good style, This last week saw the weekly rod average at 3.2 with the best day being Saturday at 6.5 The fish have moved up in the water and floating lines, buzzers and nymphs seem to be the best methods. The boats are becoming increasingly popular so if you are going to boat fish then phone and book, we had several anglers unable to boat fish this weekend as the boats were all out. Farmoor 1 has been fished well over the past week with some superb results several anglers having to stop fishing having reached the 15 fish per day limit. Don't forget the day anglers on F1 can now take one fish per session if you wish BUT the smaller fish taste better so if your not sure you can eat it all then don't take the monsters. Sunday saw the Brown Trout record smashed, a grown on fish weighing in at 17lb 8oz. (previously 14lb 4oz) As soon as I process the photos they will be up in the lodge. I am very pleased to report that it was caringly dealt with and returned successfully. I will put the details of the angler and the tail of the catch on the forum soon. How much bigger do they go?
Look forward to seeing you all soon

| Where are the pictures of the big brown trout? Why have there been no reports in the angling press? More good PR equals more customers through the door equals more good PR equals........ Do I need to continue? |
