What Ho Farmoor is one of my favorite venues and I go as often as I can, the fishing and quality of the fish is first class. But I would like to see a few rules enforced. I am amazed how often I see people fishing two rods, one fast sink laid down to the side while they fish another rod.
My only other whinge is the amount of nylon left around the resevoir by the fishermen.

Hi Fryfishing,
I very rarely catch people fishing two rods, they often have more than one set up though. I think that when they see us driving around in the van any rulebreakers have ample time to disguise their actions. Unfortunatley due to the size of the reservoir it's not usually possible for us to walk around. If anyone reports rule breaking we do take action but need anglers to assist us in this.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure you are right, it is easy to spot you on your way round. Of course I am holy than thou as I only ever have one rod with me as I like to keep on the move. I do my best to pick up the nylon where ever I fish but it is an up hill task. The other thing I have found lying about are small spinners and plugs so I guess you have people climbing over the fence at night for a bit of lure fishing. I have had some great days fishing this season and mostly with the nymphs which is always worth a few extra points. Thanks Fryfishing |

Hi Fryfishing, Thanks for your mail. I do agree with you on nylon left lying around, ended up retrieving a huge ball of it the other weekend whilst coming through the weed bed. My other pet hate is the rubbish and plastic bags left lying around - there are plenty of bins all along the reservoir wall, so there is no excuse.
I must say though that I do fish nearly every weekend at the moment and I know most of the regulars and although plenty of them, including myself, have two rods set up, I don't think I've seen people fishing two rods at the same time or I would also be having a word with them! Many, myself included, do leave part of their 2nd line off the reel and sitting on the wall next to the rod (not good for the line I know) so its quicker to change to your 2nd line - if you start to see fish rising for example.
Parking is my last topic - all the carparks were improved last year and yet you still have people who are NOT disabled, parking in the disabled bays.
ahh well, moan over. Glad you agree Farmoor is great, I've had some great sport recently and some superb fish.
